Let me start by saying this: I think eye creams are a scam.

Typically, we find that there aren’t enough active ingredients to have an effect, or adversely, they have something like retinol, which I find waaaayyy too harsh for the eye area.

With that said, we tried four of the most popular eye creams for 60 days each and there was one unquestionable winner…

So first: the negatives 🧐

The drugstore brand actually felt pretty nice, but it’s nothing more than a lightweight moisturizer. With no heavy-hitting actives, it might add some temporary hydration to the eyes, but it certainly won’t help with those dark circles or crow’s feet.🚫

The “luxury” brand. This one contained niacinamide and licorice, which might help the eye area. But at over $140 a bottle, it should do a lot more than that. Our team agreed that it didn’t absorb particularly well, leaving eyes looking a bit glossy.

The celebrity brand was a no across the board. It was the second most expensive (at over $85) and texturally, our least favorite. It does contain retinol–and we love our retinoids here at Dermablogger–but it irritated my eyes after even the first use. It’s a “no” for me. 🙅‍♀️
