We tried 4 of the most popular Eye Creams.
This was the clear winner.

Let me start by saying this: I think eye creams are a scam.

Typically, we find that there aren’t enough active ingredients to have an effect, or adversely, they have something like retinol, which I find waaaayyy too harsh for the eye area.

With that said, we tried four of the most popular eye creams for 60 days each and there was one unquestionable winner…

Here’s what we tried:

  • A popular drugstore brand

  • A celebrity-owned brand (contains retinol)

  • A ‘luxury’ (expensive!) brand

  • Our hands-down favorite: DRMTLGY’s HPR Eye Cream🥇

Even at first impression, there was a winner.

So first: the negatives 🧐

The drugstore brand actually felt pretty nice, but it’s nothing more than a lightweight moisturizer. With no heavy-hitting actives, it might add some temporary hydration to the eyes, but it certainly won’t help with those dark circles or crow’s feet.🚫

The “luxury” brand. This one contained niacinamide and licorice, which might help the eye area. But at over $140 a bottle, it should do a lot more than that. Our team agreed that it didn’t absorb particularly well, leaving eyes looking a bit glossy.

The celebrity brand was a no across the board. It was the second most expensive (at over $85) and texturally, our least favorite. It does contain retinol–and we love our retinoids here at Dermablogger–but it irritated my eyes after even the first use. It’s a “no” for me. 🙅‍♀️

DRMTLGY's Universal Tinted Moisturizer SPF 46 exceeded almost all of our expectations: beautiful sheer coverage, broad-spectrum sunscreen, non-greasy, and left our skin hydrated all day!

Dark circles? Fine lines? Wrinkles? Only one targets all of them.

Any dermatologist will tell you the same: the eye area is hard to treat. It’s delicate and the skin is some of the thinnest on our body.

So the idea that there could be a solution for eyes that delivers retinol-like results, but without the irritation sounded too good to be true. But HPR Eye Cream has not disappointed.

It delivered the clearest results of any of the eye creams we tried (and frankly, better results than any eye cream I’ve ever seen).

On top of the HPR, the formula has peptides, ceramides, and allantoin to really maximize the effects against the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles.
