3 Ways to Help Skin Adjust to Retinol:

The Sandwich Method

- Applying a moisturizer before retinol helps keep dryness at bay, and moisturizing afterwards helps soothe and calm any irritation.

The Build-Up Method

- Start slow. The biggest mistake people make is applying retinol every night. Use a pea-sized amount once or twice a week. As your skin adjusts, you can begin using it more frequently.

The Rinse-Off Method

- If your skin is sensitive, you can always use the Rinse-Off Method. Apply retinol to moisturized skin and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then gently wash it off. Increase the amount of time to 10 minutes, then 15, then 30, until skin can handle overnight application.

Directions

Apply sparingly (pea size amount) over face, avoiding eye area.
Allow to absorb before applying additional products.
Can be used once a day at bedtime or as directed by physician.
Initial application should be twice a week for first week and increase use after skin shows minimal signs of irritation.
Use of sun protection is highly recommended.
Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
